About the Event

In 2024, the Days of Yore event held at Didsbury, AB  was brought to an end after ten years.  A group of interested re-enactors got together and discussed the possibility of another site.  As a result, Heritage Park Historical Village was approached and has graciously offered to host this wonderful event for 2025. 

The event has traditionally been a military timeline event, but in keeping with the theme of Heritage Park, civilian portrayals of daily life and culture are also welcome.  This event is open to all bona-fide historical re-enactment groups and individuals that can meet the historical accuracy requirements.

The Requirements

This is a military and civilian timeline event.  It covers the period from  100AD  to the end of WW2.   At the request of Heritage Park,  all historical re-enactors must be able to present themselves in historical and replica clothing, accoutrements and camp equipment that are made as closely as possible to originals for their specific time period of presentation.  We  realize that each group has their own internal standards and we don't wish you to deviate from your standards.   

However, for this event, it is hoped that groups will elevate their presentation by bringing their very best.  Groups will be reviewed for historical accuracy, authenticity and presentation by the event committee prior to the event taking place. 

Please note the committee is comprised of interpretive staff of Heritage Park and very experienced members of the re-enactment community who have spent a lifetime re-enacting across multiple time periods.  The ultimate goal is to have a wonderful and authentic presentation with as many historically accurate groups as possible participating.

A link to a google form has been provided for you or your group to submit your details as an expression of interest so that the event committee may gauge interest and determine space and logisitic requirements.
